Ingredients:
• Moong Dal – 1 cup
• Jaggery – 1 cup
• Shredded cheese – 1/2 cup
• Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
• Roasted Cashewnuts – 6 (cut into pieces)
• Roasted Almonds – 6 (Cut into pieces)
• Roasted Raisins – 6
• Ghee – 4 tbsps
Method:
- Soak moong dal for 1/2 hr.
- Grind the soaked dal coarsely.
- Steam cook the ground dal for 5 minutes.
- Crush the cooked dal into small crumbs in the form of an uppuma.
- Heat jaggery in a pan by adding 1/2 a cup of water and prepare the syrup.
- Add cardamom powder and let it boil well for 2 minutes.
- Add the prepared dal with the jaggery syrup and mix well.
- Add some ghee and stir the mixture well.
- The jaggery syrup should dry and must not stick to the pan.
- Add the cashews, almonds and raisins.
- Garnish with shredded cheese on top.
