Ingredients:

• 1.5 cup – Rice
• 5 – medium sized Potatoes
• 1 – Onion
• 1/2 cup – moong dal
• 1/2 cup – Toor Dal
• 1/4 cup – Bengal Gram dal
• 8 – Green chillies
• 1 flake – Garlic
• 5 – Cloves
• 1 stick – Cinnamon
• 2 – Cardamoms
• 2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Turmeric
• 1.5 tbsp – oil
• 4.5 cups – water

Method:

  1. Wash rice and all the pulses.
  2. Wash and peel the skin off the potatoes.
  3. Cut the potatoes and the onions into cubes.
  4. Slit the green chillies.
  5. Heat oil in a cooker and add cumin seeds, green chillies, cloves garlic, cardamom, cinnamon and turmeric until a strong aroma arises.
  6. Now add onions and saute them till they turn pale brown.
  7. Now add the potatoes and saute them for 2 mins.
  8. Add the rice and the pulses along with 4.5 cups water with salt and pressure cook.
  9. Serve hot with mango pickle or raitha of your choice.
