Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – colocasia
• 4 tbsp – Tamarind pulp
• 2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1 tsp – cumin powder
• 2 tsp – coriander powder
• 1/2 tsp – Fenugreek seeds, crushed
• 1/2 tsp – black pepper powder
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 2 tbsp – Rice flour
• extra oil for grilling
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash the coloccasia well and simmer in water till just cooked.
  2. Drain, cool and peel.
  3. Mix the rest of the ingredients except the rice flour together and add the arvi in it.
  4. Leave aside for 30 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle rice flour on them and toss.
  6. Thread the arvi on bamboo skewers.
  7. Heat a thick griddle and place the skewers on it.
  8. Pour some oil all round and grill till the arvi is well roasted, turning over the skewers halfway through cooking.
  9. Serve.
