Ingredients:
• 125 g – Avalakki
• 4 – Green chillies
• A handful – Peanuts
• Freshly chopped – Coriander leaves
• A few – Curry leaves
• 1 cup – grated fresh Coconut
• 1 tbsp – Channa dal
• 1 tbsp – Urad Dal
• Lime – 1/2
• 1 tbsp – mustard
• 1 – onion, finely chopped
Method:
- Heat a kadai with 2 – 3 tbsp of oil, splutter mustard and add channa dal, urad dal.
- When the dal turns golden brown, add peanuts.
- Add chopped green chillies, coriander leaves , a pinch of turmeric powder and onions and fry.
- In a separate vessel, wash the beaten rice well, and drain the water.
- Add salt and enough water to soak for 2-3 mins.
- Squeeze to drain out water completely and put the aval into the pan. Mix well.
- Add lime juice and grated coconut.
- Close the pan with a lid and turn off the fire after a minute.
- Serve.
