Ingredients:

• Channa dal – 1 cup
• Jaggery – 1 cup
• Cardamom – 1
• Maida – 1.5 cup

Method:

  1. Knead maida into a smooth pliable dough with enough water and salt and keep aside covered.
  2. Cook dal in a pressure cooker and grind the dal into a paste along with jaggery.
  3. Add cardamom to the poornam and mix well.
  4. Make poornam into small round balls
  5. Make maida into small balls that are half the size of poornam balls
  6. Now place maida ball on work top and flatten it with palm and keep a ball of poornam and cover it with the maida dough.
  7. Now press with hand or rolling pin to make small chapattis.
  8. Heat a tawa apply some oil and shallow fry.
