Ingredients:

• 1 – medium cabbage, shredded
• 3 – medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
• 3 – medium potatoes, blanched and sliced
• 1/2 inch piece – Ginger
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp – Sugar
• 2 – Bay Leaves
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala
• 3 – Green chillies
• salt and chilli powder to taste

Method:

  1. Grind together chillies and ginger.
  2. Heat 3 tbsps oil and put in bay leaves, potatoes and cabbage and fry to a light brown colour.
  3. Add the rest of the above ingredients with the exception of garam masala.
  4. Cover tightly and cook till the vegetables are done.
  5. Sprinkle garam masala on top before serving.
