Ingredients:
• Bean sprouts – 2-3 cups
• Tur dal – 1-2 cups
• Red Chilli – 2-3
• Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
• Hing – a pinch
• Salt to taste
• For seasoning: Mustard – 1 tsp
• Urad Dal – 1 tsp
• Curry leaves
Method:
- Cut the bean sprouts and cook with a little water in a microwave for 7 to 10 minutes.
- Soak the tur dal for an hour or so and coarsely grind with the red chillies, turmeric, salt and hing.
- Pressure-cook the dal mixture in a cooker.
- Let it cool and grind again to give the mixture powder form.
- Heat oil in a kadhai and add urad dal, mustard and curry leaves. On spluttering, add the dal mixture and mix evenly.
- Add the cooked bean sprouts and mix well.
- Let it sit for a while until the bottom starts turning light brown. Now serve.
