Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – Beetroot
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tbsp – black gram dal
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 2 – Red Chillies
• A pinch of Asafoetida
• Salt to taste
• Oil for frying

Method:

  1. Wash and peel the beetroots using peeler and slice them.
  2. Heat oil in a pan/kadai, add asafoetida and splutter mustard seeds, black gram dal, curry leaves and red chillies broken into 2 pieces.
  3. Add beetroots with a little salt.
  4. Mix them well. Fry for some time.
  5. Serve with any rice item.
