Ingredients:

• 1 kg – medium size shrimps/prawns, cleaned and deveined
• 3 tomatoes, chopped
• 3 onions, sliced finely
• 2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – cumin powder
• 1 tsp – coriander powder (optional)
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp – Garlic paste
• 1 tsp – Ginger paste
• 3 tbsp – oil
• 2 tbsp – Vinegar

Method:

  1. Marinate the shrimps/prawns with the chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, vinegar and salt and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions till golden brown.
  3. Add the garlic paste, ginger paste and tomatoes and fry till the tomatoes turn pulpy.
  4. Add the marinated prawns/shrimps and mix well.
  5. Add 1 cup of water and cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes till the prawns/shrimps are cooked.
  6. Serve with rice, bread or chapatis.
