Ingredients:

• 1 cup – chopped Bottle Gourd
• 1 big – onion, chopped finely
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – cumin powder
• 3 – whole dry Red Chillies
• 4 or 5 – Curry leaves
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp – oil

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  2. When the mustard seeds crackle add the curry leaves, onion and dry red chillies and fry for a few minutes.
  3. To this add bottle gourd pieces, chilli powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  4. Add a little water and cook covered on slow fire till the bottle gourd turns tender.
  5. Serve hot.
