Ingredients:
• 2 kg – chunk of Mutton or Beef
• 3 – carrots, peeled and cut into big pieces
• 2 – large onions, cut into quarters
• 1/2 cup – chopped Celery
• 2 tsp – pepper powder
• 1 tsp – dried Mint powder
• 1/2 tsp – Nutmeg powder
• 2 tbsp – Butter
• Salt – to taste
Method:
- Wash the meat and vegetables.
- Heat an oven proof dish and melt the butter.
- Add the meat and brown it all over well.
- Remove the meat and keep aside.
- In the same pan add the carrots, onions and celery and saute for a few minutes till slightly brown.
- Place the browned meat on the vegetables. Sprinkle the mint powder, salt, pepper and nutmeg powder all over the meat.
- Add 2 cups of water.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminium foil and cook in a moderate oven (355 degrees) for 1 hour till the meat is well cooked and gravy is brown.
