Ingredients:
• 6 slices – bread
• 6 tsp – Sugar
• 2 cups – full Cream Milk (or 1 cup Milk and 1/2 cup Cream)
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder or 2 to 3 Cardamoms
• 3 tsp – rose water
• 1/2 cup – almonds/cashew nuts
• For type 1: Pista kulfi
• 2 tbsp – crushed Pistachios
• A few drops of green food color
• For type 2: Mango kulfi
• 2 tbsp – Mango pulp
• For type 3: Saffron kulfi
• A pinch of Saffron
• 2 tbsp – mixed crushed nuts
Method:
- Grind the bread, sugar, milk, almonds or cashew nuts, cardamom and rose water into a smooth paste.
- Add milk if required. Make 3 parts of this.
- Mix in the ingredients for type 1 into the first part, type 2 into the second part and type 3 into the third part.
- Pour into ice cube trays or kulfi moulds and freeze.
- When ready, poke a toothpick halfway in.
- Immerse moulds (partly, not fully) into room temperature water.
- Take out the kulfis and serve.
