Ingredients:
• 1 cup (18 slices) – kada chakka slices or (washed and patted dry)
• For marinating:
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – salt and 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• For the batter:
• 1 cup (200 g ) – gram flour ( besan )
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• Salt to taste ( approximately 3/4 tsp )
• 1/4 tsp – Hing ( Asafoetida )
• (100 ml + 1 tbsp) – water for mixing
• Cooking oil for frying
Method:
- Apply it over kada chakka slices and keep aside for 15 minutes. Steam in the pressure cooker for 5 – 8 minutes or microwave on high for 2 minutes 30 seconds. Allow to cool.
- For the batter:
- Make a smooth batter of the ingredients from 1-5 (batter should not be too watery ) with water.
- Dip each kada chakka slices in this batter and shallow fry on a medium heat till golden colour. Serve hot.
