Ingredients:

• Rice – 1 cup
• Cabbage – 1 (small in size)
• Coconut – 1/2 (grated)
• Green chilli – 7 or 8
• Ginger – 1 small piece
• Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
• Salt to taste
• Mustard dal – 1 tsp
• Urad dhal – 1 tsp
• Ghee 1 tsp
• To Garnish:
• Coriander leaves
• Curry leaves
• Cashewnuts

Method:

  1. Cook rice in a rice cooker separately. Cook cabbage with salt, turmeric and water in a open sauce pan.
  2. Drain the remaining water if any.
  3. Make coconut paste with chilli and ginger.
  4. Add mustard and urad dhal with ghee in a tawa.
  5. Add cooked cabbage and grinded coconut. Keep in the stove till it becomes dry.
  6. Add to the rice and mix gently.
  7. Season with fried cashews and coriander leaves. Serve hot.
