Ingredients:

• 1 tbsp – cashew
• 1 tbsp – Raisins
• 2 cups – Rice
• 1 cup – green dal
• 1 cup – Sugar
• 1/2 cup – Ghee
• 1/2 tsp – Saffron

Method:

  1. Wash rice and dal, place in a cooker and add 5 cups of water.
  2. Cook up to 2 whistles.
  3. Cool and open the lid. Again place it on slow fire and keep on stirring while adding ghee and sugar.
  4. Then add fried cashew, raisins and saffron.
  5. Hot pongal is ready to serve.
