• 75g – Urad Dal
• 250g – Chana dal
• 2 to 3 – Red Chillies
• a pinch of Asafoetida
• 2 small Onions
• salt to taste
- Wash and soak both the dals separately in water for about 4 hours.
- Drain and grind to a slightly coarse paste with all the other ingredients with the exception of onions.
- Add minced onions.
- Form into round vadas on a wet cloth and deep fry to a golden colour.
- Drain and serve hot with chutney of your choice.
