Ingredients:
• 10 small boneless Chicken pieces – washed and drained
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Juice of 1 Lime
• 150 gm – plain flour (maida)
• 100 gm – Corn flour
• 1 Egg
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 200 gm – grated cheddar cheese
• 1/2 cup – water
• oil for frying
• Honey Sauce:
• 4 tbsp – Honey
• 2 spring onions, finely chopped
• 1 tsp – sesame seeds
• 25 gm – Butter
• 1/4 cup – vegetable stock
• 1 tbsp – Corn flour
• Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
- Marinate the chicken pieces in salt, pepper and lime juice.
- Mix plain flour, corn flour, egg, 2 tbsp oil, cheese and water to make a thick batter. Add salt.
- Heat oil.
- Dip the chicken pieces (one at a time) in the batter and deep fry.
- Drain and keep aside.
- Serve hot with honey sauce.
- For sauce:
- Heat a non-stick pan, add butter, honey and sesame seeds.
- Cook for 4-5 mins.
- Add the stock and spring onion.
- Cook for another 2 mins.
- Add salt and pepper.
- Thicken the sauce with corn flour.
