Ingredients:

• 3/4 cups whole Wheat pastry flour
• 3/4 cups whole Wheat flour
• 1/2 cup – Wheat germ
• 2 tsp. baking powder
• 1/4 tsp – salt
• 1/4 tsp – baking soda
• 1 tsp – Cinnamon powder
• 1.5 cups Milk
• 1/3 cups Apple sauce
• 1/4 cups Sunflower oil
• 2 large eggs
• 1/2 tsp – vanilla essence
• 1 cup – Raisins

Method:

  1. In a large bowl mix the dry ingredients. Combine wet ingredients in a separate bowl. Pour wet ingredients over dry ingredients and gently combine them.
  2. Gently fold in the raisins.
  3. Don’t be too rough with the batter or the waffles would be tough. Spoon batter into waffle maker and bake for 20 mins.
  4. Cook a little longer for crisper waffles.
  5. Serve immediately or keep warm on the rack of a 200 deg F oven.
