Ingredients:
• 500 g – prawns, shelled and cleaned
• 3 – onions, chopped finely
• 1 – onion, thinly sliced
• 2 tbsp – Tamarind pulp
• 1 tbsp – Jaggery
• 1 tsp – Garlic paste
• 3 tbsp – oil
• Salt as per taste
• 2 tbsp – chopped Coriander leaves
• For powder (roast and grind): 2 – Cloves
• 4 – peppercorns
• 1 tbsp – Coriander seeds
• 1 tbsp – Cumin seeds
• 4 – Dried red chilli
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add sliced onion. Fry till brown.
- Add the powder and saute for 2-3 minutes
- Add salt, chopped onion and garlic paste.
- Saute for another 2 minutes
- Add 1/2 cup water and prawns.
- When prawns are cooked, add tamarind pulp and jaggery.
- Cook for another 5 minutes
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot.
