Ingredients:

• For crust:
• 2 cups – plain flour
• 2 – Egg yolks
• 1 tsp – baking powder
• 1/4 cup – butter, softened it
• Pinch of salt
• 1/4 cup – cold water (more if required)
• 1 tbsp – Sugar
• For filling:
• 2cups – khoya
• 1 tbsp – vanilla essence
• 1 cup – Cream cheese
• 3/4 cup – crumbled Paneer
• 1/2 cup – sour Cream
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 2 – eggs
• 1 tbsp – Lemon juice

Method:

  1. Mix all the crust ingredients and make a dough.
  2. Cover the dough and refrigerate for 3 hours.
  3. Beat the eggs, sugar, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients for the filling and beat well till smooth.
  5. Remove the dough from the freezer. Place on a flour-dusted work surface.
  6. Roll the dough into approximately a 12-inch circle.
  7. Line a 9-inch pan with the dough and trim the excess.
  8. The excess dough can be rolled into 4-inch long strips.
  9. Refrigerate the pan and strips for 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 325 Fahrenheit.
  11. Remove the pan from freezer.
  12. Add the prepared filling into the crust.
  13. Arrange the strips on top.
  14. Brush the top strips with butter.
  15. Bake for an hour or until golden brown.
  16. Cool, cut into wedges, and serve.
