Ingredients:

• 900 g – fish fillets
• 3/4th cup – yellow cornmeal (polenta)
• 1/4 tsp – cayenne pepper
• 1/4 tsp – Oregano
• 1/2 cup – oil
• For Batter:
• 1/2 cup – plain flour (maida)
• 1/2 cup – Milk
• 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder or paprika
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 1/2 tbsp – Sugar
• 1 Egg

Method:

  1. In a pan, combine together all ingredients except cornmeal, fish and oil.
  2. Spread cornmeal on a waxed paper.
  3. Dip the fish in batter, then coat both sides with cornmeal.
  4. Fry the fish (in batches) in hot oil over medium heat until golden brown and cooked through.
