Crisp Dal Bonda


• 1 cup – whole Urad Dal (without skin)
• 1/2 cup – tur dal
• 1 – Onion
• 2 – Green chillies
• A sprig of Curry leaves
• 1 tsp – cumin and pepper
• Salt to taste
• Oil for frying


  1. Soak urad dal and tur dal separately for an hour.
  2. Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a pan.
  3. Saute the cumin and pepper and keep it aside.
  4. Grind the urad dal with very little water until fluffy.
  5. Grind the tur dal coarsely.
  6. Mix with the ground urad dal.
  7. Chop the onions and green chillies.
  8. Add the onions, green chillies, cumin, pepper, and curry leaves along with salt and mix it well in the batter.
  9. Heat oil in a pan.
  10. Wet your right hand and make a small ball. Drop it in oil.
  11. Fry them in medium flame until they turn golden brown.
  12. Hot crispy bondas are ready to serve.
