Ingredients:

• 250 gms – Split green lentils (without skin)
• 2 tbsp – Garlic, chopped
• 1 tbsp – Green chillies, chopped
• 2 inch stick – Cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1.5 cups – Spinach, washed, discard stems, finely chopped
• 3 tbsp – Oil
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Cook lentils in 750 ml of water alongwith salt, turmeric powder and cinnamon until soft. Add more water if required.
  2. Meanwhile heat oil in a pan and saute garlic until edges become pink.
  3. Add green chillies and saute for 30 seconds.
  4. Remove from heat. Add red chilli powder to the pan, and mix with the lentils alongwith the spinach, cook for 2 mins.
  5. Garnish and serve.
