Ingredients:
• For lower layer:
• 5 slices Milk bread
• 1 tbsp – powdered Sugar
• 1 tbsp – cocoa powder
• 2 Marie or other sweet or wafer biscuits, crushed coarsely
• 2-3 tbsp – Milk
• 2-3 drops vanilla essence
• For upper layer:
• 1/2 tin – condensed Milk
• 1.5 tbsp – cocoa powder
• 1/2 tbsp – Butter
• walnuts, cherries, or other decorations.
• Vanilla ice Cream or whipped Cream (optional)
• 3 bananas, sliced
• 10 strawberries
Method:
- For lower layer:
- Run all ingredients except milk and biscuits, in a grinder till a fine crumb texture is obtained.
- Pour into a ceramic or glass bowl for setting.
- Add coarsely crushed biscuits or wafers, and mix well.
- Press down crumb layer evenly, till slightly firm.
- Sprinkle milk all over this layer of crumbs.
- Keep bowl in refrigerator.
- For top layer:
- Pour condensed milk into a non-stick pan.
- Add butter, cocoa, and mix well.
- Heat over a very low fire, stirring continuously.
- Cook till the mixture bubbles and is quite thick and sticky.
- Pour over the crumb layer and even out.
- Decorate with walnuts, cherries, etc.
- Chill till well set.
- Serve with dollops of ice cream or cream if desired.
- Arrange fruit in individual bowls before placing pudding in it.
- Serve chilled.
