Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Dhania (whole)
• 1 cup – black gram dal
• 3/4 cup – Urad Dal
• 2 tsp – Jeera
• 2 pods – Garlic
• 20 – Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – Sugar
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 3/4 cup – Tamarind
• A fistful of Curry leaves
• Oil to fry
• Salt to taste
Method:
- In a kadai, put 1 tsp of oil and fry red chillies.
- When they turn maroon, remove and keep aside.
- Put one more tsp of oil in the kadai and fry dhania till the colour changes. Keep aside.
- Heat another tsp of oil and fry channa dal, urad dal, jeera, tamarind, and curry leaves for 10 minutes
- Add sugar, turmeric powder, garlic and salt.
- When all the ingredients are cool, grind them together to a coarse powder.
- This can be stored in an air tight container.
