Ingredients:

• 3 – Drumstick
• 1 cup – cooked moong dal
• 1.25 tsp – sambar powder
• A pinch – Turmeric powder
• 2 tsp – salt as needed
• Coconut oil to fry
• 1/4 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• A pinch – asafetida
• 3 tbsp – coconut, grated
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• A few – Curry leaves

Method:

  1. Cut the drumstick into small size (2 inches size)
  2. Cook this in a pan with a cup of water and add the sambar powder, turmeric powder and salt to this.
  3. Pressure cook 1/2 cup of moong dal with a pinch of turmeric.
  4. Grind the coconut and cumin seeds into fine paste adding little water.
  5. When the drumstick turns tender, add the cooked moong dal and the ground coconut mixture to this.
  6. Mix well and boil.
  7. Temper with mustard seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves.
