Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – cornmeal
• 1/2 cup – all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp – baking powder
• 1/2 tsp – baking soda
• 1/4 cup – Sugar
• 3 tbsp – grated Orange rinds
• 1/4 cup – Almond nuts, chopped coarsely
• 1/2 cup – Apple sauce
• 3 tbsp – Canola Oil
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 425F.
- Mix together quick cooking oats, cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, grated orange rinds, apple sauce, canola oil and chopped almond nuts and knead everything to dough.
- Dust the dough with few spoons of all-purpose flour, roll the dough with a rolling pin to a thick disc.
- Cut the disc into 8 wedges, transfer the wedges to a cookie sheet, leave at least few space in between the scones.
- Brush the top of the scones with canola oil and bake for 20 minutes.
