Ingredients:
• 2 cups – Whole Wheat Pastry flour
• 1 cup – All-purpose flour
• 1 tbsp – Active Dry yeast
• 1 cup – Luke Warm Milk
• 1 tsp – Salt
• 2 tsp – Sugar
• 3 tbsp – Melted Butter
• 1 tbsp – Flour for dusting
• For Filling:
• 1/4 cup – Dry fruits (chopped)
• 1/4 cup – Nuts (sliced almonds, hazel nuts)
• 1/4 cup – Sugar
• 1 tbsp – Cinnamon powder
Method:
- Mix the lukewarm milk, salt, sugar and yeast in a bowl.
- Keep aside for 5 minutes.
- The yeast will turn foamy.
- In a large bowl add flour, the foamy yeast and 2 tbsp of melted butter and knead into a dough.
- The dough will be extremely sticky, but after kneading it for few minutes it will turn elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and keep to sit in a warm place for an hour.
- Roll out the risen dough into a thick disc, sprinkle finely chopped dry fruits, sliced nuts and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon powder over the fruits and nuts.
- Roll the dough again and place it in a greased loaf pan and keep to sit in a warm place until it rises.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Brush the dough with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle the sliced almonds and sugar over the dough.
- Arrange the loaf pan in the middle rack of a preheated oven and bake for 30-45 minutes or until the bread turns golden brown.
- Remove the Bake bread from the oven and keep aside for 5 minutes.
- Remove bread from the loaf pan and let it cool for 30 minutes before serving.
