Ingredients:

• 20 – Prawns
• 1 – Tamarind (lime size)
• 1 -Tomato (big)
• 20 – Shallots
• 5 – Garlic Cloves
• 1 cup – Potatoes (cubed)
• 1 cup – Raw banana (cubed)
• 5 – Drumstick pieces
• 2 tbsp – Dhania powder
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 3 tsp – Gingili oil
• 1 tbsp – Vengaya Vadagam
• Salt (as per taste)
• 5 – Curry leaves

Method:

  1. Grind the tamarind with tomatoes in 1/2 cup of warm water.
  2. Make a thick paste and strain the paste.
  3. Add sufficient water to it.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai and splutter vadagam.
  5. Add the garlic cloves, curry leaves and shallots, fry until onions turn translucent.
  6. Add drumsticks, raw banana pieces and saute.
  7. Add prawns and put stove on low flame.
  8. Add salt, dhania powder red chilli powder to the tamarind-tomato juice.
  9. Add this spiced juice to the vegetables and prawns, cook on high flame.
  10. Once it boils add the potatoes to this gravy.
  11. Cover and let it cook for 10 minutes.
  12. Switch off the stove.
  13. Serve hot with rice.
