Ingredients:

• 1 small cup – plain Rice
• 100 g – peas
• 2 – (cut into different shapes) Carrot
• 1 – (cut into different shapes) Potato
• 1/4 tsp – Jeera
• 4 or 5 tsp – Ghee
• A pinch – Turmeric powder
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Soak the cup of plain rice in water, for about 20 minutes. Cut potatoes and carrots in various shapes like triangle, semi-circle, square, etc. Take a deep frying pan and add ghee and roast the jeera.
  2. Add the vegetables and turmeric powder and saute for a minute.
  3. Add just enough water to the vegetables and let it boil for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Do not over cook the vegetables.
  5. Add the soaked rice, some more water (just enough to cook the rice) and salt.
  6. Cover the pan and let it cook, with occasional stirring.
  7. After the rice is cooked, allow it to cool and serve it with a cup of plain curd.
  8. Add a pinch of salt to the curd to make it tastier.
