Ingredients:

• 4 – small white Pomfrets
• Salt, pepper and lime-juice to marinate
• For the masala:
• 1 bunch Mint leaves
• 1.5 bunch – Coriander leaves
• 2 – large Onions chopped
• 1 tsp – garlic-ginger paste
• Salt to taste
• Oil | 1/4 cup – Tamarind extract
• 1 tbsp – Vinegar
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1/4 tsp – Cinnamon powder
• 1/4 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder.

Method:

  1. Clean the fish as a whole and marinate the fish with lime, salt and pepper for 1 hour.
  2. Grind the mint and coriander leaves with a little water to make a paste.
  3. Fry onions in oil till light brown, add the garlic ginger paste and powdered spices and fry well.
  4. Then add the tamarind and vinegar along with salt.
  5. Add the paste and fry for 2 mins.
  6. Wash the fish and smear this masala for 10-15 mins.
  7. Spray oil on the fish and grill open until it is cooked.
