Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Rice
• 1 cup – whole green gram dhal
• 4 tsp – Ghee
• 1 tsp – black pepper powder
• 1.5 tsp – Garam Masala powder
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tsp – Ginger chopped
• Curry leaves
• salt according to taste

Method:

  1. In a pressure cooker, add ghee.
  2. Add mustard and jeera. Wait till they splutter.
  3. Now add the curry leaves and ginger. Saute well.
  4. Now add the washed and drained rice and dhal.
  5. Add 5 to 6 cups of water (according to the kind of rice).
  6. Close the cooker with lid and pressure-cook it for 4 to 5 whistles.
  7. Serve hot with pappad.
