Ingredients:

• 1/2 bunch – amaranth greens
• 1 cup – raw Rice
• 1/3 cup – moong dal
• 5 cups – water
• 1/2 inch piece – Cinnamon
• 2 pods – Cardamom
• 2 – Cloves
• 1 tsp – Ginger Garlic paste
• 1 – Onion
• 1/2 tsp – pepper
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 2 tbsp – Ghee

Method:

  1. In a bowl, wash rice and dal together and add 5 cups of water to it.
  2. In a frying pan add ghee and fry cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger garlic paste, onion and greens for 5 mins.
  3. Then add the fried ingredients to the rice and dal mixture.
  4. Coarsely powder the pepper and cumin together and add this to the mixture along with salt.
  5. Now cook the contents in the cooker for 4 whistles.
  6. Finally garnish with ghee and fried cashews.
