- Tomatoes – 7 (500 grams)
- Olive oil – 4 tbsp
- Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
- Fennel powder – 1/2 tsp
- Tulsi leaves – 10 to 12
- Sugar – 2 tsp
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
How to make?
Take 3 to 4 cups of water in a vessel for boiling tomatoes. After the water starts simmering, mark cross cut on every tomato and drop it to the water. Let it simmer again for 2 minutes until water starts boiling again.
Take out one tomato and check it. If there is slight crack over the tomato that means it is boiled. Drain out the tomatoes from water and let them cool down. After this, remove the skin of tomatoes with your hands.
After this, chop down four of the boiled tomatoes in four big chunks and place in a mixer jar. Grind to make a fine paste and finely chop the remaining tomatoes.
Take some oil in a pan and let it heat. When the heat is sufficiently hot add ground tomato paste to it, followed by salt, black pepper powder, fennel powder and sugar. Mix well and cook until it gets thick in consistency. When the sauce turns thick in consistency, add finely chopped tulsi leaves into it and continue cooking the sauce until it gets dense. Keep stirring constantly.
When the sauce turns dense and thick then it is done and ready. Transfer it to a bowl. Use this homemade pizza sauce for pizza, macaroni, pasta and so on.
- Just make a slight cross cut over the tomatoes, it should not be deep.
- If you like to add onion then take 1 finely chopped onion and when the oil is hot saute the onions until pinkish in color. Rest follow the same procedure.
