Ingredients:

• 500 g – Prawns (shelled, de-veined, washed and pat dried)
• 4 to 5 Green chillies (finely chopped)
• 1 cup – flour
• 1 tsp – baking powder
• ½ cup – Milk
• 1 Egg (beaten)
• Oil for deep frying
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Sift together the flour and baking powder.
  2. Add salt to and keep aside.
  3. Beat the egg and combine it with the milk.
  4. Add the green chillies.
  5. Stir in the flour a little at a time and mix well.
  6. Add the prawns.
  7. Heat oil in a kadai and carefully drop the prawns into the oil.
  8. Fry on a medium flame till light brown in colour.
  9. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
