Ingredients:

• 500 g – minced Mutton
• 1/2 cup – onion, finely sliced
• 1/2 cup – tomato, chopped
• 1/2 cup – Cashew nuts
• 1/2 cup – grated Coconut
• 3 cm piece – Ginger
• 4 flakes – Garlic
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – black pepper powder
• 1 tsp – coriander powder
• 1/2 tsp – cumin powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 3 tbsp – oil
• 4 Cloves
• 2 pieces Cinnamon
• 4 Cardamom
• salt to taste
• Coriander leaves to garnish

Method:

  1. Soak the cashew nuts in hot water for 1 hour.
  2. Grind coconut with ginger and garlic to a smooth paste.
  3. Mix all the powders with the coconut paste.
  4. Heat the oil. Add cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.
  5. Add onion and fry till golden brown.
  6. Add the Masala paste and fry till fragrant.
  7. Add tomatoes and cook till they become pulpy.
  8. Add the minced mutton and fry for 3-5 minutes.
  9. Add salt, cashew nuts (drained from soaking water) and about 1 cup of hot water.
  10. Cover and simmer till the mutton is cooked.
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with Parathas or Rotis.
