Ingredients:
• Pavs or buns – 5
• Potatoes (boiled, peeled & mashed) – 2
• Onions (chopped) – 1
• Butter – 100g
• Ginger Garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
• Coriander chutney – 2 tbsp
• Tamarind chutney – 2 tbsp
• Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
• Amchoor – 1/2 tsp
• Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
• Black pepper (powder) – 1/4 tsp
• Coriander leaves (chopped) – 1 cup full
• Pomegranate – 1 cup
• Peanuts (roasted & halved) – 1 tbsp
• Sugar – 1/2 tsp
• Salt to taste
Method:
- First mix chopped onions with hand full of coriander and keep aside.
- Save some coriander leaves for garnish.
- Mix tamarind and coriander chutney and keep aside.
- In a bowl,mix mashed potatoes with salt, sugar, black pepper, garam masala, coriander powder, amchoor, remaining coriander leaves and ginger-garlic paste.
- Take each pav and tear in the middle horizontally keeping one end intact.
- Do like this for all the pavs.
- On each each pav, apply chutney mix.
- Take the potato mix and put inside the two parts of the pav.
- Sprinkle some pomegranate and peanuts.
- Close the ends of the pav and apply butter on all the sides.
- Use limited amount of potato mix only so that it fits in properly between two parts of the pav.
- Take a tawa (griddle) and heat it.
- Once it is hot, press dabeli on to tawa surface.
- First one side and then the other side.
- Do this till pav surface turns brown.
- Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
