Ingredients:

• 200 g – Gram flour
• 30 – Cashew nuts, chopped
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1 – green chilli, chopped
• 1 tbsp – Tamarind pulp
• 4 tbsp – Chopped Coriander leaves
• Salt to taste
• 300 ml – Water
• 5 tbsp + 1 tsp – Oil
• 200 ml – Oil for deep frying

Method:

  1. Mix the gram flour with the cashew nuts, powdered spices, green chilli, tamarind pulp, coriander leaves, salt and water.
  2. Heat 6 tbsp oil in a pan.
  3. Add the gram flour mixture and saute for 20 mins on medium heat till dry.
  4. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Grease a rectangular 1″ deep plate with 1 tsp oil.
  6. Press the gram flour mixture evenly into it to about 1/2″ thickness.
  7. Allow to cool for about 30 mins.
  8. Cut into 2-inch squares.
  9. Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
  10. Serve hot with green Chutney or tomato ketchup.
