Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – sour Curd
• 2 pods – Garlic
• 1/2 – Onion
• 2 – red whole chillies
• 1/2 tsp – cumin seed, Mustard Seeds
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds for spluttering
• 1/4 tsp – Fenugreek seeds
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• One cup – grated Coconut
Method:
- First make a coconut paste with the above ingredients except for the red whole chillies, turmeric powder, fenugreek seeds and curd.
- Put the curd into the mixer and run for a second so that no lumps are seen.
- Put a pan on the gas and pour two tbsp of coconut oil.
- When the oil gets heated, put the mustard seeds, red whole chillies and fenugreek seeds and fry till they are golden brown.
- Now put the coconut paste, lower the heat and start pouring the curd into it, and also put 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
- Let it simmer in the pan for a minute in low heat.
- Now your kalan curry is ready, put one cup of boiled white petha or boiled raw banana, colocassia and yam.
