Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Kovakkai ( Tindora ), chopped
• 4 – Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Channa dal
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 – Small piece of Tamarind
• 2 tbsp – Coconut (Grated)
• Salt to taste
• 1 – Onion
• Coriander leaves, chopped- 1/4 cup
• 2 pods – Garlic
• 1/4 tsp(Optional) – Mustard seeds.

Method:

  1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and saute the curry leaves, channa dal, urad dal, red chilli, tamarind until brown. Now add the cumin seeds and remove from heat. Let it cool.
  2. In the pan, add the kovakkai and cook it on a medium flame for 7 – 8 mins.
  3. Let it cool and grind it along with the roasted dal and the coconut. Mix it well.
  4. Then add the chopped onions and coriander leaves and grind coarsely.
  5. Add a little water while grinding.
  6. Serve with hot rice.
