Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Kovakkai ( Tindora ), chopped
• 4 – Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Channa dal
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 – Small piece of Tamarind
• 2 tbsp – Coconut (Grated)
• Salt to taste
• 1 – Onion
• Coriander leaves, chopped- 1/4 cup
• 2 pods – Garlic
• 1/4 tsp(Optional) – Mustard seeds.
Method:
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and saute the curry leaves, channa dal, urad dal, red chilli, tamarind until brown. Now add the cumin seeds and remove from heat. Let it cool.
- In the pan, add the kovakkai and cook it on a medium flame for 7 – 8 mins.
- Let it cool and grind it along with the roasted dal and the coconut. Mix it well.
- Then add the chopped onions and coriander leaves and grind coarsely.
- Add a little water while grinding.
- Serve with hot rice.
