Lavingya Patra is a Gujarati Snacks recipe which is cooked with Colocasia leaves rolled in gram flour paste. Lavingya Patra is full of protein, calcium, folic acid and iron. It’s very easy recipe to make at home for snacks for children and also made during the special parties and functions. Garnish Lavingya Parta with dry coconut and serve with mint coconut chutney and enjoy this delicious food.


– 10 Colocasia leaves, cut into 4 pieces
– For the paste
– 1 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
– 1 cup whole wheat flour
– 1 cup fresh Yogurt (dahi)
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 5 teaspoon sugar
– 2 tablespoon chopped green coriander
– 1 teaspoon green chili-ginger paste
– 4 tablespoon soyabean oil

For the tempering

– 3 tablespoon vegetable oil
– 2 teaspoon sesame seeds
– 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
– A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
– 3 tablespoon coconut
– 2 tablespoon chopped green coriander

How To Cook?

1. Spread some of the prepared paste over one piece of a colocasia leaf and roll into a tight cylinder. Secure with a string. Similarly, prepare the others.
2. Steam the rolls for 5 minutes. Remove and cur each roll into slices.
3. For the tempering, heat the oil; add the Ingredients and saute. Add the slices and stir till well mixed.
4. Serve garnished with coconut and green coriander.
