Ingredients:

• 6 – Lemons
• 1/4 cup – Red Chilli powder
• Salt
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• Oil
• To roast and grind:
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tsp – Fenugreek seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Asafetida powder

Method:

  1. Wash and pressure cook the lemons without adding water. Cook for two whistles.
  2. Cool it completely and slice the lemons into small pieces.
  3. Add the red chilli powder and salt, toss until the lemon quarters get well coated.
  4. Meanwhile dry roast all the ingredients given under -to roast and grind-, and grind into a fine powder.
  5. Heat enough oil, splutter the mustard seeds, and add the spiced lemon quarters and ground powder.
  6. Cook until they thicken, and remove from heat.
  7. When it is completely cooled, store in a bottle.
