Ingredients:

• 10 – dry Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – coriander/dhania
• 1 pinch – Cumin seeds
• 10 – peppercorns
• 4 – medium Onions
• 1 ball – Tamarind
• 2 pods whole – Garlic
• 2 tbsp – cooking oil
• 3 tsp – salt
• 6 – mackerels

Method:

  1. Grind dry red chillies, coriander, cumin seeds, peppercorns, onions, tamarind and 1 whole pod garlic.
  2. For seasoning:
  3. Heat cooking oil in a vessel, add the remaining smashed garlic.
  4. Fry until brown and add the ground masala.
  5. For curry:
  6. Add water used to wash the masala from the mixer to the fried masala and bring it to a boil.
  7. Add fish and salt to taste.
  8. Simmer for about five minutes, or until the fish is cooked.
  9. Turn off the flame and keep the lid closed for about half an hour.
