Ingredients:
• 10 – dry Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – coriander/dhania
• 1 pinch – Cumin seeds
• 10 – peppercorns
• 4 – medium Onions
• 1 ball – Tamarind
• 2 pods whole – Garlic
• 2 tbsp – cooking oil
• 3 tsp – salt
• 6 – mackerels
Method:
- Grind dry red chillies, coriander, cumin seeds, peppercorns, onions, tamarind and 1 whole pod garlic.
- For seasoning:
- Heat cooking oil in a vessel, add the remaining smashed garlic.
- Fry until brown and add the ground masala.
- For curry:
- Add water used to wash the masala from the mixer to the fried masala and bring it to a boil.
- Add fish and salt to taste.
- Simmer for about five minutes, or until the fish is cooked.
- Turn off the flame and keep the lid closed for about half an hour.
