Ingredients:

• 60 g – Tamarind
• 100 g – Jaggery
• 1 tbsp – Jeera
• 1.5 tsp – black salt
• 1.5 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1.5 tsp – Ginger (saunth) powder
• 1. 5 cup – water
• 1 Dates

Method:

  1. Soak tamarind in water and pulp it.
  2. Add this to the water and jaggery and boil on a double boiler.
  3. After the first boil, add roasted and ground jeera, black salt,
  4. Chilli powder and ginger powder.
  5. Mix and let boil.
  6. Add the date pieces and mix well.
  7. Boil till is thickens.
  8. Use this chutney to make dahi papdi and other chaats.
