Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – raw Rice
• 1/4 cup – split moong dal
• 1/4 cup – Channa dal
• 1/4 cup – masoor dal and Toor Dal
• 1 cup – Milk
• 1 cup – Milkmaid
• 2 cups – Sugar
• 3 tsp – Ghee
• 2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 10 – cashews
• 2 tbsp – grated Coconut
Method:
- Pressure-cook the dals with rice, 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of water (up to 3 hisses).
- Coarsely grind the dal-rice mixture with a hand blender.
- Add sugar and Milkmaid. When the mixture starts boiling, put the flame on simmer and cook for a while.
- Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cashew pieces brownish.
- Add the cardamom powder, fried cashew pieces and ghee to the dal-rice mixture. Turn off the flame.
- Add the grated coconut to the mixed dal paayasam.
