Ingredients:
• 1 tbsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – jeers (cumin seeds)
• 1 – onion, finely chopped (optional)
• 1/4 tsp – Urad Dal
• 200 gms – mushroom, cut into cubes
• 1/2 tsp – salt (or to taste)
• For the Coconut mixture:
• 3 tbsp (45 gms) – grated Coconut
• 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/4 tsp – pepper powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
Method:
- Wash and clean mushrooms. Cut into cubes and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When they starts splutter, add jeera and urad dal.
- Add finely chopped onions (optional) and fry till golden brown colour.
- Add mushroom pieces, salt to taste and coconut mixture.
- Mix all the ingredients well. Do not add water while cooking.
- Cover with a lid and cook on a low to medium heat for 10 minutes or until done – water dries up – reduction in quantity.
- Open the lid and stir continuously for 5 minutes.
- Serve as a side dish with rice.
