Ingredients:

• 1 tbsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – jeers (cumin seeds)
• 1 – onion, finely chopped (optional)
• 1/4 tsp – Urad Dal
• 200 gms – mushroom, cut into cubes
• 1/2 tsp – salt (or to taste)
• For the Coconut mixture:
• 3 tbsp (45 gms) – grated Coconut
• 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/4 tsp – pepper powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder

Method:

  1. Wash and clean mushrooms. Cut into cubes and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When they starts splutter, add jeera and urad dal.
  3. Add finely chopped onions (optional) and fry till golden brown colour.
  4. Add mushroom pieces, salt to taste and coconut mixture.
  5. Mix all the ingredients well. Do not add water while cooking.
  6. Cover with a lid and cook on a low to medium heat for 10 minutes or until done – water dries up – reduction in quantity.
  7. Open the lid and stir continuously for 5 minutes.
  8. Serve as a side dish with rice.
