Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – Basmati Rice
• 2 cups – Milk
• 1/2 cup – Sweetened condensed Milk
• 15 – Almonds
• A few Pistachios (grounded) for garnishing
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 1/4 tsp – Almond essence

Method:

  1. Soak the almonds in 1/4 cup of warm milk for an hour and grind as a fine paste.
  2. Cook the basmati rice in a pressure cooker along with the remaining milk for 3 whistles.
  3. Once the steam get released, add the sweetened condensed milk, grounded almond paste, almond essence, cardamom powder and cook everything until the kheer thickens.
  4. Serve warm or chilled with some pistachios.
