Ingredients:
• 3 cups – besan
• 1 cup – Rice powder
• 1.5 tsp – chilli powder
• a pinch – Asafoetida (hing)
• salt to taste
• oil for frying
• special vessel you need: presser used for chiwda
Method:
- Mix the besan, rice powder, chilli powder, salt and asafoetida with water to make a dough (similar to that of chapatti dough).
- Make a ball and put in mould.
- In a kadai, heat oil. When it is hot enough, pipe the oomapodi into the oil.
- Fry them till golden brown and take them out.
- Serve hot with tea or coffee.
