Ingredients:

• 1.5 cups – Long grain Rice
• 1 cup – Tomato puree
• 2 – Onions, chopped
• 2 – Green chillies, slit
• 1/2 tsp – Ginger paste
• 1/2 tsp – Garlic paste
• 1 – Spring onion bunch, chopped finely
• 1 tbsp – Coriander, finely chopped
• 1/2 tsp – Clove-cinnamon powder
• 1/4 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tsp – Sugar
• 1 tsp – Tomato sauce
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp – Butter or oil.

Method:

  1. Wash and soak rice for 30 mins.
  2. In the meanwhile, heat oil in a pan and add the ginger-garlic paste and stir.
  3. Add the chopped onions, green chillies and stir fry until light pink.
  4. Add all the dry masalas, sugar, salt and mix well.
  5. When the oil separates, add rice to it.
  6. Mix well, add the tomato puree and sauce and boil it.
  7. Now add 1.5 cups of water and let it boil.
  8. Cover, and simmer on low fire until almost cooked.
  9. Just before it’s fully cooked, add the spring onions, and coriander.
  10. Stir gently, and let it dry.
  11. Serve hot.
