Ingredients:
• 450 g – unbleached white bread flour
• 240 ml – warm water
• 2 tbsp – Olive oil
• 1 tsp – dried Yeast
• 1 tsp – Sugar
• 1 tsp – salt
• 1 – Egg yolk mixed with water for glazing
• nigella or sesame seeds for sprinkling
Method:
- Mix all the ingredients other than egg yolk and seeds.
- Make it into a smooth dough using an electric mixer or by using your hands.
- Place the dough in a clean oiled bowl and cover it with a cling film.
- Leave it in a warm place until swells to nearly double its size.
- Take the dough, punch it down gently and divide it into three equal rounds.
- Shape each piece into a ball and roll it into a round of about 6inches in diameter.
- Cover it with an oiled cling film and leave for about 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile preheat the oven to 230 degree Celsius.
- Just before baking the bread, make ridges all over the surface of the bread using your fingers, place the bread on a floured baking sheet, brush on top with the egg glaze and sprinkle it with seeds.
- Bake it in the hot oven for 9 to 10 minutes or until puffed and golden in colour. Serve immediately.
